The Emily Carr String Quartet & Marion Newman with the Victoria Symphony - Saturday, October 15th, 2011

The Emily Carr String Quartet and Marion Newman join the Victoria Symphony in a world premiere of Stories From Klee Wyck by Tobin Stokes.

The second of two concerts presented by the Victoria Symphony exploring Emily Carr’s painting, poetry and connection to the people of the First Nations. These concerts will include the world premier performance of several new works by Canadian composers and feature video presentations of Emily Carr’s artwork. Composers include Tobin Stokes, Giorgio Magnanesi, Anna Hostman, Veda Hille and Barbara Croall, plus choreographer Alejandro Ronceria. Guest artists Marion Newman, Veda Hille and The Emily Carr String Quartet will perform. Other events will take place at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, Emily Carr House, the Royal British Columbia Museum and other locations.
